LG-KP4700 Mobile Phone Searches Song by Voice

LG Electronics unveiled it's model LG-KP4700 that can search songs by voice request, according to MobileKorea.TV."With enhanced MP3 functions, the device's voice recognition function allows users to search songs and send short messages while listening to music, thus achieving multi-tasking.The Music Phone, which comes in a necklace form, allows users to use it as a fashion item like a small MP3 player. Its memory chip can store a maximum of 48 songs (4 megabytes per song). The phone also supports an external memory"

Linktone Profits Up 46%

Linktone, one of the big Chinese mobile content providers, has reported its Q3 revenues: It had revenues of $20.5 million, up 17% quarter-on-quarter from $17.5 million in Q2 2005 and up 54% from $13.3 million in Q3 04. Its net income for Q3 was $4.1 million, compared with $3.7 million in Q2 05 and $2.8 million for Q3 04.

Finland Licenses Commercial TV Service

Finland has become the first European country to issue a licence for a commercial TV service for mobile phones, the Finnish News Agency reports, via The Register."The Finnish Ministry of Transport and Communications announced on Monday that it will start accepting applications for a licence. The service will be based on DVB-H (digital video broadcasting - handheld) transmission technology. Finland is one of many countries experimenting with TV on mobile phones. In Helsinki around 500 people were involved in a pilot in the Helsinki metropolitan area last spring, which was favourably received."
