Mobile Content Provider Summus Changes Name to Oasys Mobile

Oasys (pronounced like oasis) Mobile is the new name for the publicly traded firm (OTCBB: SMMU). The company will have a new trading symbol in the near future, according to a spokesperson for Oasys.The name change and new web site is part of a strategy Oasys has adopted in targeting younger users.The web site allows users to store content in password-protected “lockers” in the event they change cell phones. Games, ringtones and wallpapers purchased from Oasys can be stored at the site.

Skype Gets Good Ringtones

Just a small heads-up to let you know that if you have a Skype phone, you’ll soon be able to buy any of Warner Music Group’s songs to use as ringtones. Labels include Atlantic, Asylum and Rhino so get ready for your fave Bjork and Black Sabbath songs to ring in your ears. It’s always been a dream, I know. No specific details yet, but we’ll keep you updated.

The Russian site aggregates content for both the fixed and mobile markets. For the latter, it takes content from providers of games, logos, ringtones, alerts and other products, marketing them into the country’s rapidly expanding mobile market. The CONTENT and PROMOTE modules from XIAM’s industry leading MPOS suite of mobile content management offerings beat a number of competing products to be chosen by Rambler.The rate at which Russia’s mobile subscriber base is expanding was one of the main reasons Rambler selected XIAM. The platform’s ability to handle literally millions of transactions was a key factor, as were its sophisticated promotional capabilities. “We operate one of the leading Russian-language p ortals. Our business is undergoing significant growth and we need a content platform to support this growth. Wind Buys New Adamind Licence to Broaden Mobile Content Services for 13 Million Subscribers
