Coca-Cola Mobile Content
The Coca-Cola Company has created a licensing deal with Smartphone Technologies to deliver a range of Coca-Cola branded content to cell phone users.
Under the agreement, Smartphone will gain access to Coke’s entire archive of images and advertising jingles, and use them to create wallpapers, animations, and ringtones that can then be offered as mobile downloads.
“Downloadable content is a natural brand extension for Coca-Cola that will reach millions of cell phone users,” said Coca-Cola licensing manager, Keli Sogar, in a statement about the deal.
If executed properly, this type of brand awareness advertising could work wonders for the Coca-Cola brand name. Already well known in every segment of society, the practice of combining the Coke brand with mobile phones will imprint it on the minds of consumers, whenever they reach for their cell phones.
